Approved Medicine During Pregnancy

What’s Safe to Take

Always ask your doctor or call the office for questions regarding medications in pregnancy. Your doctor will review the medications you are currently taking during your initial prenatal visit and make recommendations as needed. During the first 12 weeks, it’s important that all medications are prescribed or discussed with your doctor.

Tylenol is recommended for pain relief for minor discomforts. NSAIDs (Aspirin, Motrin, Aleve, Ibuprofen) should be avoided.  Several over-the-counter medications can be used to treat common pregnancy symptoms, colds, or other ailments.
